Peer Review Process

  • To determine the appropriateness of a article in order to be published in The Journal of Communication Research, all articles received by the editorial office will be reviewed by Reviewer in accordance to the field of expertise.
  • The articles sent to Reviewer are anonymous.
  • The result from Reviewer’s review will be returned to the author for revision.
  • One script will be reviewed by a maximum of two Reviewers.
  • A maximum time of two weeks will be given to Reviewer for script reviewing.
  • The assignment of Reviewer will be referring to the scope of The Journal of Communication Research. They are researchers, practitioners, or academics who hold a minimum of Doctoral degree in communication, media, and informatics. 
  • Untuk menentukan layak tidaknya sebuah naskah yang akan dimuat dalam Jurnal Penelitian Komunikasi, maka semua naskah yang masuk ke dewan redaksi akan ditinjau/direview oleh mitra bestari sesuai dengan bidang kepakarannya.
  • Naskah yang dikirim ke mitra bestari dalam keadaan tanpa nama.
  • Hasil tinjauan dari mitra bestari akan dikirimkan kembali ke penulis untuk dilakukan perbaikan.
  • Satu naskah akan ditinjau oleh maksimal dua mitra bestari.
  • Mitra bestari akan diberi waktu maksimal dua minggu untuk meninjau naskah.
  • Penentuan mitra bestari disesuaikan dengan ruang lingkup Jurnal Penelitian Komunikasi, mereka adalah para peneliti, praktisi, atau akademisi yang minimal bergelar Doktor di bidang komunikasi, media, dan informatika.
 

Publication Frequency

Jurnal Penelitian Komunikasi is regularly issued twice a year. First number is issued in July, while the second one is issued in December. Issuance process of the first number is going on from early January to June. The second one lasted from July to November.

Jurnal Penelitian Komunikasi terbit secara berkala dua nomor dalam setahun. Nomor 1 terbit setiap bulan Juli, nomor 2 terbit bulan Desember. Proses penerbitan nomor 1 berlangsung sejak awal Januari hingga Juni. Proses penerbitan nomor 2 berlangsung sejak Juli hingga November.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration. More...

 

Author Fees

The submission process and the published articles are free of charge. Our publishing process was already funded by BPPKI Bandung, Ministry of Communications and Information Technology Republic Indonesia. 

Proses penyerahan naskah tidak dipungut biaya sampai dengan penerbitan naskah bagi naskah yang diterima. Proses penerbitan di JPK telah didanai oleh BPPKI Bandung, Kementerian Komunikasi dan Informatika Republik Indonesia.

Journal History

The Journal of Communication Research was first published in December 1997 in printed version (ISSN 1410-8291) by the Center of Analysis and Development of Public Opinion (BP3U). In 2002, the institution changed its name into the Center of Analysis and Development of Information (BPPI), then renamed again in 2008 by the name of the Center of Analysis and Development of Communication and Informatics (BPPKI) of Bandung, until today. Along the way, The Journal of Communication Research has been accredited three times: in 2007 (Decree by Chief of LIPI No. 536/D/2007 dated June 26th 2007), in 2010 (Decree by Chief of LIPI No. 452/D/2010 dated May 6th 2010), and in 2014 (Decree by Chief of LIPI No. 341/E/2014 dated April 25th 2014). In the early 2013, The Journal of Communication Research began to migrate to electronic format under the management of the Center of Informatics Data and Facilities (PDSI) of Ministry of Communication and Informatics. In August 2015, it was managed by a new website, http://bppkibandung.id/index.php/jpk (ISSN 2460-0172). At the moment The Journal of Communication Research is available in two formats, printed (limited copy) and electronic.

  • As a place for creativities of researchers, practitioners, academics, and observers in the field of communication and informatics in developing their capabilities and competitiveness.

Sejarah Jurnal:

Jurnal Penelitian Komunikasi terbit pertama kali bulan Desember 1997 dalam versi cetak (ISSN 1410-8291) oleh Balai Pengkajian Pengembangan Pendapat Umum (BP3U). Pada tahun 2002, lembaga penerbit Jurnal Penelitian Komunikasi mengalami perubahan nama menjadi Balai Pengkajian dan Pengembangan Informasi (BPPI) kemudian pada tahun 2008 hingga saat ini menjadi Balai Pengkajian dan Pengembangan Komunikasi dan Informatika (BPPKI) Bandung. Dalam perjalanannya, Jurnal Penelitian Komunikasi sudah tiga kali terakreditasi yaitu pada tahun 2007 (SK Kepala LIPI No. 536/D/2007 tanggal 26 Juni 2007), tahun 2010 (SK Kepala LIPI No. 452/D/2010 tanggal 6 Mei 2010), dan tahun 2014 (SK Kepala LIPI No. 341/E/2014 tanggal 25 April 2014). Pada tahun 2013 Jurnal Penelitian Komunikasi mulai bermigrasi menjadi jurnal elektronik di bawah pengelolaan Pusat Data dan Sarana Informatika (PDSI) Kementerian Kominfo dan mulai bulan Agustus 2015 Jurnal Penelitian Komunikasi dikelola sendiri dengan web baru http://bppkibandung.id/index.php/jpk(ISSN 2460-0172). Saat ini Jurnal Penelitian Komunikasi masih terbit dalam dua versi, cetak (cetakan terbatas) dan elektronik.

Visi Jurnal Penelitian Komunikasi:

Menjadi jurnal unggulan di bidang komunikasi dan informatika.

Tujuan Jurnal Penelitian Komunikasi:

  • Mengembangkan dan menyebarluaskan ilmu pengetahuan di bidang komunikasi dan informatika.
  • Menjadi jurnal terakreditasi nasional berkualitas.
  • Menjadi wadah kreativitas para peneliti, praktisi, akademisi dan pengamat di bidang komunikasi dan informatika dalam mengembangkan kemampuan dan daya saing.
